Head-to-head
ClickBank vs JVZoo: which network should sell your offer?
Pick ClickBank if you sell a physical or supplement direct response offer and want the network to act as merchant of record, review your funnel for compliance before it lists, and put it in front of an established affiliate marketplace; pick JVZoo if you launch a digital product or software on your own Stripe or PayPal, want a 5% platform fee, and plan the launch around JV partners and leaderboards.
Quick answer
ClickBank is our top pick for most people. The default network for a direct response offer that needs the biggest open pool of affiliates, with merchant of record, compliance review and payouts handled for you, at a higher per-sale fee than Digistore24 advertises.
- ClickBank. Best for Vendors of digital and physical direct response offers who want a large open affiliate marketplace with full merchant-of-record checkout.
- JVZoo. Best for Digital product and software launches built around JV partners, leaderboards, and fast listing.
Side by side
ClickBank
- Best for
- Vendors of digital and physical direct response offers who want a large open affiliate marketplace with full merchant-of-record checkout
- Vendor fees
- $49.95 one-time activation fee when your first product is approved (not charged if it is not approved). 7.5% + $1.00 per sale (9.8% + $1.30 for eligible Klarna transactions). $5.00 pay period processing fee per payment issued. 10% of each pay period held as a return allowance for about 12 weeks. No monthly subscription.
- The catch
- The fee is the price of the brand: 7.5% + $1 on every sale is real money at nutra volumes, and the pre-listing compliance review will send aggressive copy back for rewrites.
JVZoo
- Best for
- Digital product and software launches built around JV partners, leaderboards, and fast listing
- Vendor fees
- No setup or monthly fee. 5% platform fee per sale when using your own Stripe or PayPal; 8.5% per sale when using JVZoo payment processing.
- The catch
- It is a launch platform first. A physical supplement offer looking for evergreen paid-traffic affiliates will find a thinner crowd here than on the networks above it.
JVZoo vs ClickBank: what the choice turns on for a seller
Most pages that put JVZoo and ClickBank side by side are written for affiliates choosing what to promote. This one is for the person who owns the offer and has narrowed the shortlist to these two. The decision comes down to four things: what each network keeps from a sale, who stands behind the checkout when a buyer disputes a charge, how hard it is to get listed, and which kind of affiliate is already browsing the marketplace.
The two networks are built differently. ClickBank buys your product at wholesale and resells it to the customer, so it runs the order form, collects the money, handles sales tax and pays you and your affiliates from what it collected. JVZoo is a platform that sits on top of a payment processor you connect yourself (Stripe, PayPal or another supported processor), takes a platform fee on each sale and manages the affiliate side, with its own processing service as an optional extra.
Everything below comes from each network's seller pages, fee pages and FAQ, read in October 2026, plus long-running threads where vendors describe selling on both. We did not list a product on either network ourselves; how we research network fees covers the method.
The differences that matter, in one table
| ClickBank | JVZoo | |
|---|---|---|
| Processes the order | ClickBank | Your processor |
| Per-sale fee | 7.5% + $1 | 5% or 8.5% |
| One-time fee | $49.95 | None |
| Before listing | Compliance review | Approval |
| Typical approval | 3-5 business days | 24-48 hours |
| Money held | 10%, ~12 weeks | 30 days |
| Commissions | RevShare or CPA | RevShare |
| Affiliates (own count) | ~100,000 | 800,000+ active |
A few of those cells need a sentence each. JVZoo's 5% assumes you connect your own Stripe or PayPal; the 8.5% rate is for vendors who let JVZoo Processing Services handle the payment. ClickBank's review is an FTC/FDA and ClickBank compliance check of the product materials, the sales funnel, the promotional copy and the price points. ClickBank pays weekly or biweekly on Fridays at $5 a payment and holds back 10% of each period as a return allowance, while JVZoo deposits revenue to your processor account after its 30-day refund period, with a $100 minimum for the first payout.
The affiliate counts are each network's own figure, counted its own way (JVZoo's FAQ also cites 1.2 million registered affiliates), so they say more about how each one markets itself than about how many people will promote your offer. Vendors on both networks say the same thing in public threads: the listing gives affiliates a place to find you, and the recruiting is still your job.
ClickBank: strengths and drawbacks
What works
- Acts as merchant of record: processes the order, remits tax and splits commissions with affiliates
- Open marketplace of nearly 100,000 affiliates, plus JV contracts through account managers
- Sells digital and physical products, with RevShare or CPA commissions
- Seller rules are published in detail: a 3-5 business day approval, Friday payouts and fixed chargeback tiers
- Own order form and upsell flow, plus integrations with Voluum, ClickFunnels, Everflow and Shopify
What to watch
- 7.5% + $1 per sale plus a $49.95 one-time approval fee, above Digistore24's advertised starting rate
- Every product passes an FTC/FDA and ClickBank compliance review of the funnel and copy before it lists, which slows aggressive nutra launches
- 10% of each pay period is held as a return allowance for about 12 weeks
- Chargeback fees climb from $22 to $49 plus margin as your rate rises, and a 2% rate needs action within 48 hours
- Approval does not bring affiliates: sellers report slow starts and thin support for new offers

JVZoo: strengths and drawbacks
What works
- Free to join; 5% platform fee on sales
- Most products approved within 24 to 48 hours
- Launch leaderboards and contests built in for JV partners
- Phone-room tools that split closer and affiliate commissions on high-ticket sales
What to watch
- The 5% covers the platform; processing is extra, either your own Stripe or PayPal or JVZoo Processing Services after underwriting
- The marketplace leans toward digital marketing, software and make-money products rather than physical nutra

Pricing compared on a $97 sale
The headline rates make JVZoo look cheaper, and on the platform fee alone it is. The order in which each network takes its cut changes the picture once an affiliate commission is in play, so here is one $97 front-end sale with a 50% affiliate commission, run through each network's published fee rules.
| $97 sale, 50% | ClickBank | JVZoo own | JVZoo pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| Network fee | $8.28 | $4.85 | $8.25 |
| Affiliate gets | $44.36 | $48.50 | $48.50 |
| Vendor keeps | $44.36 | $43.65 | $40.25 |
"JVZoo own" is the 5% rate with your own Stripe or PayPal, and its $43.65 is before that processor's own fee on the full $97. "JVZoo pay" is the 8.5% rate with JVZoo processing the payment. ClickBank takes its 7.5% plus a dollar off the top and splits the $88.72 that remains, so the affiliate carries half of the fee. JVZoo's own FAQ example works the other way: on a $100 sale at 50% commission the vendor nets $45 at the 5% rate, which means the commission is paid on the full price and the platform fee comes out of the vendor's half.
On a single $97 sale, then, the vendor keeps slightly more on ClickBank than on JVZoo with its own processor, before JVZoo's processor fee is even counted. Two things push the other way. ClickBank's $49.95 activation and $5 per payout are fixed costs that weigh most on a low-volume seller, and an affiliate weighing your offer on each network earns about $4 more per sale on JVZoo at the same commission percentage, which matters when you are recruiting.
The ClickBank pricing breakdown and the JVZoo pricing breakdown list every fee each network publishes, including ClickBank's Klarna rate and chargeback tiers.
Merchant of record, compliance and chargebacks
On ClickBank the buyer's card statement carries ClickBank's name, because ClickBank is the retailer of record. Its seller page lists integrated payments, sales tax remittance, 1099 contracts for affiliates and affiliate payouts as part of the service. The price of that is control: every product goes through the compliance review before it can list, and aggressive health claims come back for rewrites. An approved product still has to be published to the marketplace by the seller.
Refunds and chargebacks run through ClickBank's books too. Buyers usually have 60 days to ask for a refund, and the chargeback fee climbs with your rate, from $22 per chargeback under 1% to $49 plus margin at 1.5% and above. A seller who reaches 2% has 48 hours to act.
On JVZoo with your own processor, the processor is the merchant account, so refunds and disputes land in your Stripe or PayPal account under that processor's rules. A software or course seller with a processor already in good standing keeps working inside the account it has. A physical supplement seller takes on the dispute ratio and the processor relationship directly, with no network standing between its account and the card networks. JVZoo Processing Services is the route for a vendor who wants JVZoo to take the payment instead. JVZoo's help center sets out its processing and chargeback terms, which we have not reproduced here.
Affiliates and launches: where each network wins
ClickBank's marketplace is the older, broader pool, with digital and physical products side by side and the option to pay affiliates a fixed CPA instead of a revenue share. Its account managers also arrange JV contracts for larger offers. For a supplement on paid traffic, that mix of media buyers and the CPA option is the reason vendors pay the higher per-sale fee.
JVZoo is built around the launch. Its features page lists launch leaderboards, dime sale countdowns, a phone room that splits commission between closers and affiliates on high-ticket sales, and unlimited products from one account at no listing cost. ClickBank's own comparison page describes JVZoo's catalog as concentrated in internet marketing and ecommerce products, which is a competitor's description and worth reading as one, though JVZoo's own pages lead with launches and software too. JVZoo's FAQ now also pitches supplements and a white-glove onboarding for proven offers doing $250K or more, so the line between the two is less fixed than it was.
One seller in a public thread reported moving from ClickBank to JVZoo and praised the support at volume. Others in a vendor thread were blunter about both: listing helps, but neither network will sell the product for you. If neither fits, the ClickBank alternatives and JVZoo alternatives pages sort the other networks by the problem each one solves, and ClickBank vs Digistore24 sets ClickBank against the other merchant-of-record network.
Our pick for most vendors
